A Thom Isomorphism for Infinite Rank Euclidean Bundles
An equivariant Thom isomorphism theorem in operator K-theory is formulated and proven for infinite rank Euclidean vector bundles over finite dimensional Riemannian manifolds. The main ingredient in the argument is the construction of a non-commutative C-algebra associated to a bundle E → M , equipped with a compatible connection ∇, which plays the role of the algebra of functions on the infinit...
متن کاملMod 2 Homology of the Stable Spin Mapping Class Group
We compute the mod 2 homology of spin mapping class groups in the stable range. In earlier work [G] we computed the stable mod p homology of the oriented mapping class group, and the methods and results here are very similar. The forgetful map from the spin mapping class group to the oriented mapping class groups induces a homology isomorphism for odd p but for p = 2 it is far from being an iso...
متن کاملPartial Monoids and Dold-thom Functors
Dold-Thom functors are generalizations of infinite symmetric products, where integer multiplicities of points are replaced by composable elements of a partial abelian monoid. It is well-known that for any connective homology theory, the machinery of Γ-spaces produces the corresponding linear Dold-Thom functor. In this note we show how to obtain such functors directly
متن کاملA Note on Spectrum Preserving Additive Maps on C*-Algebras
Mathieu and Ruddy proved that if be a unital spectral isometry from a unital C*-algebra Aonto a unital type I C*-algebra B whose primitive ideal space is Hausdorff and totallydisconnected, then is Jordan isomorphism. The aim of this note is to show that if be asurjective spectrum preserving additive map, then is a Jordan isomorphism without the extraassumption totally disconnected.
متن کاملA Homotopy Theoretic Realization of String Topology
Let M be a closed, oriented manifold of dimension d. Let LM be the space of smooth loops in M . In [2] Chas and Sullivan defined a product on the homology H∗(LM) of degree −d. They then investigated other structure that this product induces, including a Lie algebra structure on H∗(LM), and an induced product on the S 1 equivariant homology, H S ∗ (LM). These algebraic structures, as well as oth...
